My dog has never had an accident. Not until this week. He has had two this week. Both times he tried to get to the door and didn't make it. I'm worried. Maybe I am paranoid. I don't want him to have diabetes. Pets with diabetes die shortly after diagnosis.
Anyone know how to test a dog's blood sugar? Or even the normal range for a dog's blood sugar? Yikes, I hope we were just ignoring him too much for him to make it outside in time.

Take him to a vet.
My cousin in law's mom had a diabetic dog and she'd give him injections.
The dog was old to begin with, so he lasted only a couple of years, but I'm sure they have treatments that will help your dog survive longer.
Anytime our dog has to go out repeatedly, I ALWAYS think she has diabetes.
I don't think pets with diabetes die automatically -- shortly after diagnosis. I know a woman who's been giving her dog injections for eight years now...
Take him to a vet, it might be something else -- Urinary Tract Infection, Kidney Issue -- who knows...
My cat started messing up in the house once. She had a urinary tract infection. Maybe that's all it is.

You should take him to a vet. My neighbor (who wore an insulin pump) had a cat with diabetes. She did not test the cat often, but she said if the cat used the litter box more often, she would give the cat a bit more insulin. When the animal did need to be tested, they would pierce the cat's ears with a lancet device. Anyway, diabetic animals can live for quite a while with proper care, just not as long as pets without diabetes.

Dog seems ok. He is energetic. My mom told me the night he had an accident that he didn't go outside before bed. Ok, that makes sense. For now we are just keeping an eye on him.
